Jurassic Wars Meets Jurassic Park
The enormously successful Jurassic Park trilogy consists of Jurassic Park, based on the original novel by Michael Crichton, Jurassic Park: The Lost World, and Jurassic Park III. Fans of the films may be interested to know which dinosaurs featured in the Jurassic Park films and novels also feature in Jurassic Wars®, the dinosaur combat game. These are:
Jurassic Park
Apatosaurus
Stegosaurus
Styracosaurus
Triceratops
Tyrannosaurus
Jurassic Park: The Lost World
Apatosaurus
Carnosaurus
Stegosaurus
Triceratops
Tyrannosaurus
Jurassic Park III
Ankylosaurus
Stegosaurus
Tyrannosaurus
Velociraptor or Utahraptor?
One dinosaur that features strongly in all three Jurassic Park movies is the velociraptor. However, actual velociraptors would have been much smaller than those depicted in the films and their tails would probably have been rigid rather than whip-like. When the famous sickle-like claw is unearthed at the start of Jurassic Park this was actually based on the discovery of Utahraptor (source: Dinofiles by Richard Moody). Indeed, the size and appearance of the velocirpators in the films probably more closely resemble Utahraptor, a dinosaur which is included in Jurassic Wars.
